Common Barn Owls
There's a good reason that "common" is in "Common Barn Owls". Common Barn Owls live all over the world, in many places! However, they do not live in severe-winter or severe-cold areas. But if the climate is mild, and there's primarily-open areas with tons of prey nearby, you can expect Barn Owls.
These guys have a name problem... they have a ton of names! The Common Barn Owl species has a lot more names than any other owl species! And this big bunch of names includes their Latin name, current name, ancient names, and names in other languages!
They are great hunters, and mainly eat small mammals like mice, shrews, bats, and so forth. In fact, they're so great as hunters of small pests, Barn Owls are imported to other countries infested with Old World pests. They turn out to be great pest-control, and boom in numbers in these countries.
